Lunch Menu

Our school catering provider is Hartlepool Borough Council.

As the main school meal provider in Hartlepool, we (HBC) recognise that we have an important role to play in the future health and well-being of the town’s children.

We promote the importance of a balanced diet and help children to make healthier lunch time choices through a 'colour code' system which is clearly displayed on the school menus.  Children learn that if they choose a portion from each colour group they will be enjoying a well balanced meal.

All of our meals meet national school food regulations and we also hold the Bronze 'Food for Life' Catering Mark for Primary Schools.  This award demonstrates that we are committed to providing fresh, sustainable, locally sourced and high quality foods.

We offer an appealing, well designed menu which is renewed each Spring and Autumn.  Special theme day meals are also introduced from time to time to match curriculum themes or to commemorate and celebrate anniversaries or events.

FREE school meal is available to all children in Reception classes and Years 1 and 2, regardless of their family’s financial circumstances.

Children in Years 3 to 6 still have to pay for lunch unless they are eligible for free school meals.

Parents claiming certain benefits can apply for free school meals for any of their children who are registered at a Hartlepool school and who would normally be at school at lunch time.
